Planning Matters

Devonshire Road
A number of residents have asked what is happening to the former Anglia Photo Works in Devonshire Road which also included Rocco's bike repair.
The building is being converted into offices for use by the Citizens Advice Bureau. Rocco meanwhile has taken his excellent repair service to the unit 3 in the Gwydir Street workshops (just close to the road closure)

Tenison Avenue
Residents on the South side of Tenison Avenue are opposing plans to build a terrace of town houses on the site of the former St Colettes School in Tenison Road. They are very concerned about the proximity of their homes to the new development and the Association has also lodged an objection. This can be seen on a our web site by clicking here

St Barnabas Road
Many residents have supported the long term objection by the Residents Association to the development on land to the rear of the former guest house and offices at 93/95 Tenison Road. Having been defeated on plans for two houses on the site the owners then submitted a proposal for 7 flats. This strongly opposed by the Association and refused by the Council. Unfortunately the owner appealed to the Planning Inspectorate and won. The development which will cause the loss of the existing parking and the most of the more valuable trees, will now be able to proceed.
